Patrick Lamy graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) in 2003 being named “Most Outstanding Criminal Justice Graduate” while also minoring in English and History. While at ULL Patrick started on the football team as a Strong Safety and he received all Sunbelt Conference Academic Honors for the 2002 and 2003 football seasons. After graduating from college Patrick was hired by Archbishop Rummel High School as a varsity football and track coach, as well as a Physical Education teacher for the 2004-2005 school year. In June of 2005, Patrick then enlisted in the United States Army where he became a Special Forces Green Beret. As a Green Beret, Patrick served one tour in South America and two tours in Afghanistan. In the winter of 2009, during his last Afghanistan deployment, Patrick was introduced to CrossFit by one of his fellow SF team members and he has been passionate about it ever since. After getting out of the Army in the fall of 2010 Patrick then went and got certified as a CrossFit level 1 trainer. Patrick is currently attending the University of New Orleans where he is in the process of completing the necessary pre-requisites required in order to apply to Medical school as his future plans are to become an MD. What Patrick likes most about CrossFit is that whether someone is eight years old or eighty years old the WOD’s can be scaled for all fitness levels to ensure that everyone gets a great workout, with great results, in a fraction of the time normally associated with traditional fitness programs.
